Jen Ring began her storytelling journey in 2017, writing and taking photographs for Creative Loafing Tampa. Since then, she’s told the story of art in Tampa Bay through more than 200 art reviews, artist profiles, and art features.
In August 2023, Jen put together the popular CL slideshow, “Tampa Bay’s must-see murals, and the stories behind them,” writing, “Tampa Bay’s murals tell our region’s history, show our character, memorialize our people and their accomplishments, revitalize neighborhoods, welcome visitors, provide selfie opportunities, and send positive messages out into the world.”
Her piece was in alignment with the mural-mapping project underway and the Tampa Arts Alliance contacted Jen immediately to collaborate. For Vibrant Walls, Jen leads research and storytelling. As a valued regional arts advocate, she brings depth and precision to the project.
