April 24, 2025- A Note From Alliance Board Chair, Andy George
We had a wonderful open house, showcasing the impressive space on the ground floor of the Fifth Third tower, which we hope to utilize as a dynamic arts space.
We greatly appreciate Farley White Management Company, the building owner, for envisioning the use of this space for an arts-focused purpose, and for working collaboratively with us. Thank you for joining our event Tom, Daisy and Cherrie.
Thank you to The Beck Group for helping us imagine and visualize the possibilities, to Tucker Hall, Inc. for generously sponsoring lunch and to IKE Smart City for beautiful signage.
To those who stopped by today – THANK YOU! We are energized by your support, ideas, and engagement.
It was a pleasure visiting with Mayor Jane Castor, City Council Member Bill Carlson, and CEO Kenyetta Hairston-Bridges and Ivy Lupco of the Tampa Downtown Partnership, Patrick Harrison of Visit Tampa Bay, Robin Nigh and Melissa Davies of the City of Tampa Public Arts division, Eileen Blake from Hillsborough County Arts Council, Dean of Arts & Letters- David Gudelunas and Professors Sam Modder, Joshua Haddad and Elena Cifuentes of the University of Tampa, Jill Witecki and Devin Dominguez of Tampa Theatre, Erika George of Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, curators Jessica Todd and Odeta Xheka, artist Dean and Connie Mitchell, supports and patrons Greg Morgan, Lauren Prager, Elizabeth Corwin & Bill, in addition to Alliance Board and committee Members Sara Richter, Ya La’Ford, Neil Gobioff, Coy Stull, Wade Vaughn, Nick Lyons, Nancy de Waart, Kathy Durdin, Angelina Garcia, Jennifer Malin and Michele Smith. This focused group of downtown stakeholders and arts leaders offered fantastic feedback ahead of engaging the larger community.
We plan to utilize this space to execute on our mission in an effective and impactful way. It will enable us to spotlight the variety of arts offerings and opportunities in Tampa, while also providing a physical space for community stakeholders to convene and promote Tampa’s art scene.
When you view the recently launched Arts Directory, you will see that this location is at the center of the arts ecosystem in Tampa.
We are excited to take the next steps with Farley White, and we look forward to working with all of you to continue to promote Tampa as a vibrant city of the arts!
