Tampa Arts Alliance secures gift for downtown hub – Tampa Bay Business Journal

Farley White Interests has donated space inside Fifth Third Center in downtown Tampa for the Tampa Arts Alliance.

The 5,000-square-foot, ground-floor space is at 201 E. Kennedy Blvd, across from Lykes Gaslight Park. The multiyear, zero-dollar lease represents a $1 million gift. The Tampa Arts Alliance will launch a capital campaign to raise $1.2 million more by Nov. 1 to build out the space, according to a release.

The Beck Group will work with the alliance on the space, which is expected to open in March 2026.

“To build a vibrant cultural identity in Tampa, we must center the arts in development, commerce and civic decision-making — while creating a visible, inspiring presence that showcases our local talent,” Michele Smith, Tampa Arts Alliance executive director, said in the release. “That’s exactly what the Tampa Arts Alliance is doing.”

The space will:

  • Showcase the work of Tampa Bay artists and arts organizations
  • Inspire connection and collaboration
  • Activate public spaces with art, music and performances for all to enjoy

“We appreciate the innovative vision and generosity of Farley White’s leadership, giving us this exciting opportunity to create an incredible amenity for the Tampa community,” Tampa Arts Alliance Board Chair Andy George said in the release. “The arts center will be a vibrant space for artists and audiences and will allow us to bring more arts programming to Tampa’s downtown, including its parks. We are eager to welcome everyone to experience the energy, inspiration, and collaboration that the arts center will provide.”
